Our History

Our Company was started in the fall of 1990 by two wildland fire fighters, our founders, Jim and Diane Felix. Jim Felix began fighting fire with the Larimer County Yellow Jackets in 1984 in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1987, Jim was helping to teach the basic wildland fire-fighting course for the Yellow Jackets. One of the students was Diane Bauer.

Diane Bauer-Felix began fire fighting in 1987. For the next four years she was very active in fire suppression for the Yellow Jackets. Diane has a Bachelors of Science degree in Clothing, Textiles and Design from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

With Jim's fire background and desire to find good gear and Diane's retail experience and sewing abilities, a business was stumbled onto. The business was started under a friend's corporation, The Supply House. A one-page brochure with ten products was produced in the fall of 1990. By the beginning of 1991 it was apparent the demand was too much for The Supply House to handle. The Supply Cache, Inc. was born and produced its first catalog in June of 1991. The Supply Cache was home based for the first 8 years. In 1999 The Supply Cache moved out of the house into our first warehouse. By September of 2004 we moved into our very own building, complete with a showroom and 8000 square feet of warehouse.

As we move towards over 20 years in business, we are expanding our current product lines, adding new lines to respond to customer requests, and growing our presence across the country. With access to so many specialized products, we feel The Supply Cache can serve the Utility and Oil markets with gear you may not find anywhere else. We are your number one choice for fire resistant clothing and specialty PPE.
